Well, it's a little late but the 'good ole summertime' has finally arrived.
Air conditioners are pumping, fans are whirling and everyone is exclaiming,
"My, it's hot" or "The bugs are terrible". At least, the Master Rain-maker doesn't have to listen to our continuous chorus of complaints about so much rain. We do seem to be a hard lot to satisfy when it comes to the weather.

Cookin' for the crew!
I'm not sure where time goes. It seems there is never time to write as often as I should. Life has been very busy for the last few months. I hear everybody saying, "Amen",so I won't bore you with my long list of excuses for not blogging.
Life seems to have a way of getting us all running at a faster pace on the treadmill of life than our feet can comfortably carry us. Sometimes my heart is screaming, "Stop the treadmill!! Let me off!" But then it seems, something just keeps driving me on and I struggle to pick up pace. Thank God for His strength. Many times, I just take on things that I'm sure I don't need to be doing...but then who's going to do it? I wear many hats and titles.
For the past few weeks I've been the 'cook' for several hungry men who are working on our church yard. From 6:30am and mid morning coffee to dinner and supper, I've been busy cooking and baking. Now I guess I could have let them go a few miles down the road to a cafe to eat. But if i had done that, they would be off work for an hour and a half. This way I maximise their work time here. I must confess that when I started this, I had no idea that I would be doing this for several weeks. Once they knew there was great food (so they say) served here, it seems they don't miss a meal. They've even been bringing others!
They have dug up the area around the front of the church basement and fixed where we were having water problems in the church basement. They took the grade down a couple feet along the side of the church so that the water will run away and graded off the back yard too. They have put in several loads of crush rock and hopefully they will pave tomorrow. It will be great to have it all done and get life back to 'normal'.

The end of April is here!!
Well, with April, the warm weather has arrived, at least for a day or so. I've even heard the peeping of frogs. I know I'm excited with every liitle sound and flower that let's us know that winter is past. But when it cooled down last evening after the 80degree temperatures, I started to wonder.
And where does time go? It seems we make plans for the months ahead and before we know it, those months have quickly passed.
We have just concluded special Anointed Life Ministries with Bro & Sis Mike meadows from Virginnia. They truly were such a blessing to us and our church family. Being with them is like a breath of fresh air, inspiring and refreshing.
The Zealand UPC Ladies Ministries were awarded the 1st Place award this year for 2009 Mother's Memorial / Foreign Student giving! May the Lord shower His blessings on them for their generous giving.

Yes! The Robins are here!
Well, Easter Sunday it snowed all day but melted as fast as it came down! As the temperature dropped in the evening, it started to add up to a couple of inches. But the snow has now melted enough to bare several areas on the lawn and would you believe...there are robins out there desperately scratching for something to eat!
Only a few miles from here, I noticed little yellow flowers blooming today along the sides of the road. Still looking for pussywillows though.

Spring is Here!
Well the calendar says it's spring...well that sure does sound good.
It's been a long winter with so much snow. It's really been very beautiful to watch it coming down, smothering the drab barren countryside with it's shimmering veil of white diamond dust. A few weeks ago when it was so cold and frosty, it flickered like heaven's Jeweler had just thrown down a few.
Well this year...it wasn't just a few...We actually had about 4 feet on the level and several feet of snow plowed up into huge banks. Yes many of theose banks are still all around my yard but...they are melting. The back yard is still covered with a foot or two of the white stuff.
We have about 3 days of rain in the forcast, so it will likely take much of it.
Everyone here is anxiously awaiting the first sighting of a robin, some pussy willows and the first sound of frogs peeping. Then we will know that spring has indeed arrived.
